GPSYMTH just released his album Ripostes via Stars And Letters this week. The album comes in the form of a Madagascan Sunset Moth in a 1.25oz glass vial and a downloadable link. Now that we share / collect music via file and we are not dictated by the format it comes in or is played (c.d, tape, etc). It seems so damn right to use that freedom and do whatever the hell we want with it. To me this really feels like the space we should be occupying as artists. It kind of reminds me of that David Byrne talk about how space dictates the kind of sound a band has. Technology too dictates the parameters with which we have to move. And now that music can be shared in a format-less way (and to me as an artist who doesn’t really care about the technical aspects of a ‘file’ - it basically feels like sharing air). We can essentially attach anything we want to it e.g a Madagascan Sunset Moth in a 1.25oz glass vial. And this is why I love this release so much (and my record label). It feels new and exciting and a response to the weird technological state we’re in. Not to mention, it’s super beautiful and seems exactly like the right ‘thing’ to sit alongside this record. Woah, the future of music just got way more exciting for me. X

STILL FROM ‘CARS (I)’ NEW MUSIC VID. SOON! - FILMED BY ED LUST
I was recently asked to curate a selection of my fav things for Brooklyn’s finest music website/ event organizer/ record label Impose Magazine. You can visit the actual feature here.
I don’t really have anything to say about this video. It renders me speechless.
I had tickets to go see Terje perform last year in London. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but I heard the show was amazing. Terje makes and performs with instruments made of ice. It’s so damn beautiful. Like, heavenly.
I’m currently reading Yayoi Kusama’s autobiography ‘Infinity Net.’ Yayoi is such an amazing woman. I particularly love this video as it gives you an insight into the way she works. At the end of the video you see 100 of her paintings sitting side by side, it’s mind totally blowing.
Talking Heads, Slippery People
I grew up listening to Talking Heads, I’m still kind of growing up listening to Talking Heads. They also have the best dance moves ever e.g this video.
Meadham Kirchhoff are one of my favorite fashion designers. I’m always chasing up their latest collections on You Tube. This particular collection totally blows my mind. I remember the first time I saw footage from this show I was in shock for like a week. The colour combinations are off the hook. Parts of this show inspired ideas I had for the visual aesthetic of the 7’’ vinyl I recently released.
TURNTABLE KITCHEN MIXTAPE
